BACK COVER COPY:

A waitress, a megastar, and an ex-addict wage war for the heart of a young girl.

Thirteen years ago, a spiked drink left Agnes with a permanent reminder of the man who date-raped her.

Her daughter looks like him, sounds like him, and even listens to his platinum records (of course, the dude’s a mega star because nothing is fair) but Brisa is everything Agnes has in the world. At least, she is until the day this music star sets his sights on getting himself a ready-made family.

He’s got millions of dollars, millions of fans, a high-powered legal team, and half Brisa’s DNA. Agnes has a run-down house, a friend who’s almost three years sober and afraid to say he loves her, and a lawyer willing to work pro bono.

Oh, and the whole town of Beaufort. That’s right. She’s got all those Beaufort folk at her back, praying to the God she has rejected, and not one of them is going to let Brisa go without a fight.

Visit Me–Elsewhere

Lots of news from my neck of the woods, but most of it has to do with my busyness. Besides writing the next Carolina Coast novel, I’m now a monthly contributor to Novel Rocket. The second Wednesday of every month you can find me there, talking about life as an author. But don’t wait until Wednesdays: the blog has wonderful contributors every day.

As always, you can find me on Facebook.

And if you’re on my mailing list, I’ll let you know about new releases and other fun things, including opportunities for freebies and my new audiobooks. The second edition of Sailing out of Darkness just released and has been brought into the Carolina Coast fold with a brand new cover. One of my favorite narrators, Laura Jennings, will begin recording the audiobook soon.

Sleepy Creek Press and I have teamed with Selz.com to create a store for my audiobooks, which will save you, the buyer, a chunk of change and will help me pay for the talented narrators I’ve hired. I’m very proud of the audiobooks we’re produced and hope you’ll check them out. You can listen to samples on my website or in the Store.

Keep in touch!

SAMPLE

I think Brandon Potter and Spoke Media did an excellent job, especially on the Middle Eastern accents.

Travel with Rina from Morehead City, NC, to Perugia, Italy, where bodies begin to drop, and Rina has no idea who is friend and who foe. Follow Tony to Perugia and then to Jordan and Israel as Israel prepares to defend itself against Hamas rockets. Meet terrorists and good guys, friends and foes.

Grab a copy of the full audiobook for yourself. Go SHOPPING at the Sleepy Creek Press Store (it will be available with other vendors soon) and experience the excitement.

I listen to audiobooks while I’m cooking and cleaning, driving and walking, and especially while I’m on the elliptical, trying to keep this aging body in shape. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have as much time as I’d like to sit with a book in my lap, but I can justify “reading” with a narrator because I’m being so productive.

Heavy Weather’s Shiny New Badge from The MAGGIE!

Finalist NSRE pub

Y’all have seen this before, back in 2014, when Sailing out of Darkness finaled in the Maggie. Even if Heavy Weather doesn’t win, I consider it a huge honor to be short-listed with WFWA (Women’s Fiction Writers Association) girlfriend, Barbara Claypole White and her delicious book, The Perfect Son.

This is a happy year for my book baby — remember the Colorado Award of Excellence final earlier in the year?

Heavy Weather

Stay tuned for a celebratory contest–coming soon!

More Excitement: A Surprise Win

Do you remember that Heavy Weather was a finalist in the Colorado RWA’s Award of Excellence Contest for Mainstream Fiction with Strong Romantic Elements? I adore anything that validates my work, my words.

Guess what? Today I learned that the cover of Two from Isaac’s House won the cover contest for Romantic Suspense. Congratulations to Jenny from Seedlings Design Studio for bringing my idea to fruition and giving the book such a gorgeous face.
