By morning, the sky had cleared, lending contrast enough for a photograph or two. Here is the snowfall as seen from the porch door. I have not yet ventured forth.
Now, it’s two hours after I took those pictures, and the sunlight sparkles on the crystals, like diamonds winking at us.
I’m glad I was here to see it. What a beautiful gift from the heavens.
Gorgeous sight, N. It’s lovely when you don’t have to drive in it, etc. I believe you’ve had more snow than us so far this year up here on the western side of the Cascades. Weird, huh?
Very odd. Due, I suppose, to the La Nina factor, though that can’t be the only reason — or we’d have had snowfalls like this much more regularly.
We’re very glad not to have to drive anywhere. If there’s one thing my mama and I have in common, it’s a delight in a well-stocked pantry. For me, that comes from years of eking out plenty from little. At any rate, we can feast for a long while on the stockpile, certainly for much longer than the snow will last!
Wow, how gorgeous. A fresh snowfall is one of God’s most stunning gifts to us. Thanks for posting these, Normandie.
Blessings,
Deb
You’re absolutely right, Deb. An incredible gift.
