As far as I know, Sea Venture took off this morning from Shelter Bay Marina, intending to anchor at one of the islands for the night. Our normal morning conversation via Skype didn’t happen, whether because of Internet issues at Shelter Bay or other complications, I don’t know. I’ll keep everyone updated as I learn more.
By tonight, I’ll at least have a SPOT position report, a radio email, and, I hope, a SAT phone call!
Thank You, Lord, for technology. I don’t have a clue how women of old fared in the silence of months and sometimes years. This was MUCH easier when I was on board with Michael. Wish I could go play, too!
Soon, I say. Soon.
Yes. And fair winds.
Well, it seems they didn’t get off yet. Winds piped up at the marina, which makes exiting a trick when you don’t have bow thrusters or two engines and you’re a hefty old lady. So, it should be early this AM (though it’s already early and I haven’t heard). Patience…very difficult trait to learn!
