I know you’ll forgive me for the blog silence when I explain that I’ve been just a little busy. Some of you will have seen the Facebook pictures of my time in the city, but here are a few to remind me and you of the important things in life.

My son-in-law calls me the Baby Whisperer because I could soothe our sweet little darling and give her parents a break. This was taken on my last day with her–and she did as much to soothe my spirit as I did for hers.

I did have the privilege of meeting my publicist face-to-face.  River Laker of Silver Seas PR came to town to help me at a book event in one of the top NYC book stores. Here I am, reading an excerpt from Becalmed.

Sea Venture is slowly wending her way south. First real stop, Chesapeake City, MD, and then it’s on to Baltimore and more book signing parties!

If you’re anywhere along our route south (Chesapeake Bay and ICW) please give us a shout out.  I’d love to meet you hither, thither, or yon.

    1. Marina Sofia, thanks for stopping by. I know Ella looks like she’ll be a babbler, but at one month, I think those are more expressions of “Oh, look what my eyes see! I have eyes! I have a world!”

Such a darling baby. I was soooo hard to leave her.

And I am having fun with books and parties. Just sent in the final fixes for Sailing out of Darkness. Just need my editor to approve, and then I assume they’ll begin printing.

    1. Thanks, Lynne. she’s gorgeous and fun. I’ll have more pics in the next weeks of the places we go and the folk we meet. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Welcome back Grandma, you’ve been missed though it’s obvious why you’ve been away. What a little darling she is. It does look as though she’s passing the time of day with everyone.

I seem to have adopted the baby whisperer role too since so far Reuben has not cried once in his Pops’s arms but seems to go to sleep there. We should hire ourselves out. I’ll certainly make more than I do selling books.

I wish you calm seas on your travels, good luck at book signings, and send you as ever Huge Hugs xxx

    1. Ah, David, I think of you holding Reuben as I hold my my little Ella. No, now it’s held, isn’t it? But there’s impetus to return to the Big Apple for another hug or two soon.

I think grandparents have an edge–we’re not as frantic or worried, and so our babies sense that all is well, don’t they?

May your wandering on land be filled with joy and your books multiply in sales so that others may giggle a time or two as you tell your stories. Such fun.

      Hugs back,
      N
