Sifting through Blog Land

An interesting blogger decided to follow Sea Venture’s Journey (my sailing blog). Being the curious sort, I wandered over to see what I could see and found a repost from Catherine, Caffeinated. I’m sorry that the linking blogger didn’t leave any way for me to contact her. Still, I submit Catherine’s two cents because she’s a young woman who writes with wit and wisdom. No, I don’t plan to self-publish. But that doesn’t mean I can’t glean a thing or two as a writer. As an editor and a reader, I hope authors take heed.

We can’t read everyone’s words, but this gal has pizzazz. You know what I mean.

It’s too bad, really. I come across blogs like this, and I wonder what else I’m missing. I bemoan the lack of time to wander the blogsphere: I imagine I could learn and laugh and have an absolutely grand time.

Perhaps I’ll stumble on yours next. And won’t that be fun?

Check out Catherine’s advice for self-publishers in the post below.

  1. I’ve subscribed to so many interesting blogs now and feel really sorry and guilty that I can’t give all of them as much attention as they deserve. As with all the books in the world: so many words, so little time to read them all!

    1. I finally found a place to comment on your blog, MarinaSofia. I find that some of my early blogging subscriptions have fallen by the wayside as I discover new voices. In the beginning, I wanted so much to know, and most of my journeyings were to read those who could inspire or teach me something. Now, I find myself enjoying the thoughts of others as they roam through life, trying to figure it out. Thanks for connecting with me. I’ve so many hats on hooks, waiting to be donned, that I’m not as faithful a blogger as are many with more intriguing things to say, but I do love the ability to connect with people from all across the world.

Touching, connecting, reaching beyond our isolation…

  2. Ah, no, I’m no scientist! But if you generalize to include those curious about the world around them, about backgrounds and histories of individuals and what makes each person unique . . . well, then, sign me up! How grateful I am to an Internet that opens up the world to us.

  3. Really? How lovely. I just commented on your post, and, yes, I noticed the link to here, but didn’t realize you’d done more than send folk my way. What a sweetheart. You’re going to force me to work harder at finding inspiration!
